One of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in Australia, City Tattersalls Club has a rich history and is considered one of Sydney’s finest venues.
Overcoming hurdles faced by previous would-be developers of this high profile Sydney CBD location, ICD Property negotiated an almost unanimously-supported agreement with the 18,000-strong membership of the City Tattersalls Club for its redevelopment.
To ensure the very best ideas were put forward for the redevelopment, ICD Property held an international design competition, with Australian firm BVN ultimately appointed as the project’s architect. BVN is also working closely with fjmtstudio on the heritage aspects of the build to provide a holistic design approach that harmoniously merges the new tower above with the existing heritage facades of the site.
The development involves rejuvenating the City Tattersalls Club’s lower level premises, complete with ground floor retail, bar, restaurants, and ballroom. The plans also include an elegant 50-storey tower featuring 241 high-end residential apartments, a 101-room hotel, a commercial fitness centre and event spaces that highlight the beautiful historical features of the building’s original interiors.
Pitt Street is arguably the most significant street in all of Sydney. Just a stone’s throw from Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Chinatown, the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Hyde Park, City Tattersalls Club offers seamless connection with the CBD and beyond. Pitt Street Mall is just a few blocks away and there is an abundance of dining venues in close proximity. The outlook from 372 will be breathtaking with views of Hyde Park and Sydney’s famous iconic landmarks on offer.
