ICD Paves a New Era of Work-Life Balance

Following their award as one of Australia’s top ten places to work in 2022, ICD Property has continued to revolutionise the modern workplace.


The company’s most recent example of how it advocates for best-in-class work-life balance amongst its employees? A generous six-week road trip up Australia’s east coast undertaken by Hayley Lombardi, ICD’s People Development Manager.


Understanding the very real correlation between long-term high-intensity workloads and burnout, ICD advocated for Hayley — who has been part of the company since 2016 uplifting the culture through tangible processes and systems, improved policies, and dedicated staff recruitment, development, and training – to utilise her long-service leave for a well-earned holiday.


No different to how high performing sports team recover during the off season, ICD sought to facilitate a process for Hayley to properly rest, reset, and come back to the company inspired, reinvigorated, and ready to lead the next few years of goal kicking.


In November 2023, Hayley did just that; trading a daily view of her office or some of Australia’s most stunning coastal beaches as her and husband David hit the road. Over the course of six weeks the pair made over 20 pit stops from the beaches of Torquay to the rum distillery of Bundaberg. As they made their way through Victoria the first stop was Bermagui on the NSW South Coast which is where the trip really began. Exploring each stop by foot or scooter they kept the healthy balance between pub meals and burning calories.

  2. Best Ocean Pool – A close tie between Forster and Bermagui
  3. Best Activity – Quad Bike riding the dunes in Shoal Bay
  4. Best Adventure – Swimming with local Dolphins in Tuncurry
  5. Best Quiet Achiever – Patonga Beach NSW


Whilst the trip itself was a well-earnt getaway, more broadly it signified a celebration of Hayley’s hard work and dedication to ICD over the last 7 years. It was a way for ICD to give back thanks, rewarding and acknowledging Hayley for all her contributions to the company’s success.
