Last night signalled a landmark decision by the City of Sydney, awarding ICD Property and the City Tattersalls Club envelope approval for the Stage 1 Concept Development Application of its City Tattersalls Club site.
The high-profile Sydney project will be developed in partnership between ICD Property and the almost 125-year old iconic club, with the approved proposal comprising of a 49-storey tower which includes circa 246 residential apartments and a 100-room hotel above the historic site.
Envelope approval was also received for plans to rejuvenate the entire club house, including retail, restaurants, a combined hotel and Club reception on the ground level, as well as an event space, a premium co-working centre, health and wellbeing facilities and other great member facilities.
Speaking to how the City Tattersalls Club’s redevelopment integrates into the wider Sydney CBD, ICD Property Managing Director, Matthew Khoo, said his team were excited to be part of the city’s growth.
“Not only will our work breathe life back into this site, but we hope that it will contribute heavily to the surrounding CBD streetscape, alongside the upcoming redevelopment of the neighbouring David Jones site by Scentre Group and CBUS and introduction of a new tram network on nearby George Street,” said Matthew.
Representing an extremely rare residential and hotel opportunity in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, ICD Property will look to prepare an exciting design competition process to commence in 2020.
City Tattersalls Club Chairman, Patrick Campion, was ecstatic about the approval, which followed a long period of working collaboratively with council.
