During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s visit to Melbourne, the Governor of Victoria presented them with a framed photo of Geelong’s famous silos neighbouring ICD Property’s development Gen Fyansford.
ICD Property is extremely humbled the silos artwork neighbouring Gen Fyansford, completed by world-renowned artist Rone, has been recognised by the Governor of Victoria as an iconic Victorian landmark.
The silos, owned by Adelaide Cement Company, had its artwork commissioned by ICD Property in partnership with Supalai and Gersh Investment Partners for their joint estate development Gen Fyansford earlier this year.
ICD Property Managing Director Michael Mai says, “the artist Rone grew up in Geelong and therefore the artwork is as meaningful as it is beautiful, and we’re very proud to have contributed to the City of Greater Geelong community in a positive way. Those living in the estate love it and it’s certainly a representation of the locals in the neighbourhood and wider community.”
Governor of Victoria Lina Dessau says the artwork is deeply symbolic and “Victoria is known as the creative state so we wanted to ensure (the gift) was a work of art”.
“They loved it. They seemed to enjoy it the moment they saw it and were particularly impressed by its provenance and how it came about”, she said.
