At the 2018 Urban Design Awards in July, the local council of Borondoora celebrated some of their best urban design projects with a presential ceremony. Awarding Maple an award for ‘Best Apartment/Mixed-Use Development’.
Winners are assessed against key qualities including creativity, acttractiveness, and contributions to enhance the building’s surrounding. It’s important that each project not only adds something special to its respective neighbourhood but makes a greater positive contribution to the overall character of Boroondora.
Located at 121 Power Street in Hawthorn, the City of Boroondora commended maple for its “clever use of external screens to create an interesting play of shadow and light”. As well as it’s ability to enliven its surrounding with an eye-catching façade and popular ground-level café.
