Meet Steve Yang

What is your current role? I am the Investment Manager at ICD. My team communicates with investors and banks both in Australia and overseas to source capital for investment in real estate development projects.

What are your everyday challenges? Challenges definitely help keep me on my toes. When dealing with clients, I need to truly understand and appreciate their perspectives and what motivates them. It is an ongoing challenge, but that’s when real value can be created and win-win partnerships established.  

What do you wish you knew more about? As I was born in China, I’ve always wanted to learn more about Australian Football… then I’ll be ready to pick my AFL team I wish to back.

What virtues do you most admire in people? Consideration and diligence.

What are some small things that make your day better? That’s easy, positive feedback from our investors and getting to work with the most amazing colleagues every day.

Who has impressed you with what they’ve accomplished? Mr Boliang Mai. The reason for this is seeing first hand all his hard work come together to build a business empire. He is a visionary man who takes great pride in everything he does. He also has the courage to carry through with his vision no matter how challenging that may be.

How do you relax after a hard day of work? I love to wind down by spending time with my family and gardening.
