Melbourne CBD high rise building, Eq. Tower, the first skyscraper for ICD Property, has been named as one of Australia’s best Residential High Rise Developments at the Asia Pacific Property Awards in Bangkok on Friday, 26 May.

The 65-storey tower competed against the best developments in Australia to be recognised as an Award Winner in the Residential High Rise Development category and the Five-Star Winner in the Residential High Rise Architecture category.

Completed in April 2017, Eq. Tower was developed by ICD Property through a joint venture with Chinese institutional company Sino-Ocean Land. According to Matt Khoo, Deputy Managing Director at ICD Property, Eq. Tower is a major achievement for the Melbourne-based developer:

“As ICD Property’s first high rise development, Eq. Tower has been a categorical commercial success. We are thrilled to have been awarded two Asia Pacific Property Awards for this project, which has set a new benchmark for inner-city apartment living in Melbourne,”

“Eq. Tower was also our first joint venture with Sino-Ocean Land and we are glad to have introduced one of China’s largest property developers into the Australian market with such a landmark development,” continued Mr. Khoo.

In its 26th year, the International Property Awards is one of the largest, most prestigious, and widely recognised awards throughout the world. The awards are split into regions covering Africa, Asia Pacific, Arabia, Canada, Caribbean, Central & South America, Europe, UK and USA. Judged by an independent panel of 70 industry experts, the International Property Awards focus on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.

Eq. Tower is a 65 level tower comprising of 633 one, two and three bedroom apartments, ground level laneway retail precinct, communal amenities and six levels of car parking.

Designed by award-winning architects Elenberg Fraser, Eq. Tower features a curtain wall glass facade designed using a parametric equation, which analysed weather patterns, sunlight, views and apartment usage to ensure no space was underutilised. The method also ensured an abundance of natural light could be delivered to all living and bedroom spaces.

“We’re really proud of the level of resident amenity achieved in Eq. Tower – the first in the next generation of vertical living; now a vertical community. Full amenity apartments accentuate views and ensure the apartment interiors are bathed in natural light, whilst the 2.5sqm per apartment of resident facilities areas on Levels 7 and 33 includes karaoke suites! Eq. Tower re-affirms Melbourne’s place as a truly international city,” said Jeremy Schluter, Associate Director at Elenberg Fraser.

The exceptional communal amenities include a dining room with adjoining kitchen, lounge room with kitchen, cinema room, two karaoke suites, games room, cinema room, gymnasium, 25m swimming pool, spa, sauna, sundeck, barbecue area and shared bicycles.

Representatives from ICD Property and Elenberg Fraser travelled to Bangkok for the Asia Pacific Property Awards Gala Presentation and IPAX Asia Pacific Global exhibition last week.
