Eq. Tower to be honoured at Asia Pacific Property Awards

Melbourne’s 65-level Eq. Tower will be announced as one of the winners in the Residential High Rise Development and Residential High Rise Architecture categories for Australia at the Asia Pacific Property Awards to be held in Bangkok on Friday, 26 May 2017.

It is also in the running to be selected to compete in those same categories at the International Property Awards later in the year.

Located at 135 A’Beckett Street in the CBD, Eq. Tower is the first high-rise development for ICD Property.

Matt Khoo, ICD Property’s Deputy Managing Director, said for the company’s first high rise building to be recognised in this matter was testament to the team as well as the hundreds of consultants and suppliers who worked on the project over the past four years.

“The building was not only an outstanding commercial success, but a unique addition to the Melbourne skyline.”

In its 26th year, the Asia Pacific Property Awards is one of the largest, most prestigious, and widely recognised awards throughout the region. Judged by an independent panel of 70 industry experts, the awards focus on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.

Designed by award-winning architects Elenberg Fraser, Eq. Tower features a curtain wall glass facade designed using a parametric equation, which analysed weather patterns, sunlight, views and apartment usage to ensure no space was underutilised. The method also ensured an abundance of natural light could be delivered to all living and bedroom spaces.

Eq. Tower comprises of 633 one, two and three bedroom apartments, a ground level laneway retail precinct, residential lobby and six levels of car parking.

The exceptional communal amenities include a dining room with adjoining kitchen, lounge room with kitchen, two karaoke suites, games room, cinema room, gymnasium, 25m outdoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, sundeck, barbecue area and shared bicycles. In fact, 6% of the gross floor area is set aside for community activities, nearly three times that of comparable buildings.

The highest scoring ‘Five-Star Winners’ from each category in the Asia Pacific Property Awards on Friday, 26 May will be put forward for re-judging against winners in other regions of the world for the International Property Awards to be held in London in December 2017.
